A DIY Inventor Converted a Gas Go-Kart Into Electric. But Does It Work?

His kid has a need for speed, but not the screaming engine.

Go-karts are small-scale four-wheeled vehicles, similar to a car, and are one of the most favorite toys among young children since they give kids the opportunity to be a driver just like their parents. One problem is that they tend to be loud since the motor is sitting right in front of you.

In this video, Robert Dunn of the popular YouTube channel Aging Wheels, explains how his six-year-old loves going fast but hates loud noises. After some thinking, he decided that the best solution would be to convert the gas go-kart to electric.

However, this was an ambitious goal, which effectively lead him down a long and winding road to develop an electric go-kart that his kid would love. The road was, of course, filled with failures as well as triumphs, and the end product shows examples of his great workmanship. But… Does it work?
