LEGO announces its first Christmas advent calendar for 2023

Dec 24, 2023

It may only be the beginning of summer, but LEGO is already getting ready for Christmas with its first advent calendar for 2023.

The toy giant is getting the jump on its competitors by confirming LEGO® Friends Advent Calendar 2023 will soon be up for pre-order for £19.99 or $34.99 in the US. If past years are anything to go by, the sets will potentially release around September.

This advent calendar isn't connected to the TV show Friends — it's an original LEGO toy range featuring interconnecting sets with recurring characters.

The 2023 advent calendar, which is meant for ages 6 and up, features a mini-doll or micro-doll behind each door and, when you've unboxed them all, the figures fit together in a festive diorama scene.

There are ten characters included overall, as well as 24 mini build toys, that will allow builders young and old to put together a charming village scene, complete with a playground and mini-train.

There are 231 pieces in all in the LEGO® Friends Advent Calendar 2023, and you'll be able to use the LEGO Builder app for any instructions you may need in putting the mini-builds together.

This is guaranteed to be the first of numerous festive advent calendars and other LEGO calendars that will be released in time for the holiday season later this year.

If last year was anything to go by, LEGO fans can expect advent calendars for Star Wars and Marvel, as well as numerous original products from the toy brand.

The most wonderful time of the year may still be a few months away (okay, more like five months away), but it's always wise to get your holiday shopping done early. Snatching up a few of these LEGO Friends advent boxes is a great way to get an early start on your shopping list!
