BLUE MOUNTAIN FILM FESTIVAL

Thursday, June 1 to Sunday, June 4 — The festival features 24 films from 23 different countries, an industry creative forum, parties, special guest appearances, and unique mountain and village experiences. Enthusiasts, filmmakers, and artists will gather in Blue Mountain Village to discover the best in world cinema.

Cost: $20 to $125.

GEORGIAN COLLEGE AUTO SHOW

Friday, June 2 to Sunday, June 4 — Barrie's Georgian College campus hosts Canada's largest outdoor, student-run new car auto show. Includes: Pfaff autocross track, fun field activities and KidZone, electric vehicle test drives, silent auction, and food vendors.

Cost: $30 for family pass (Includes 4 general admission tickets), $10 per person, 12 and under is free.

GATHERING: FESTIVAL OF FIRST NATIONS STORIES

Saturday, June 3 from 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. — The very best award-winning authors and storytellers from Saskatchewan to Nova Scotia are coming to Rama First Nation and Orillia as "Gathering: Festival of First Nations Stories" returns June 1 to 4.

On Saturday at 5:30 a.m., there will be a traditional Sunrise Ceremony at the Multi-Purpose Grounds in Rama First Nation's Victoria Park. A community breakfast will follow at 7 a.m. at the Rama Community Hall. Readings and presentations by recognized First Nations speakers and authors, including Armand Garnet Ruffo, Drew Hayden Taylor, and Michelle Good, will take place throughout the day starting at 9 a.m. The day concludes at St. Paul's Centre in Orillia with an 8 p.m. musical performance by award-winning artist and pianist, Tomson Highway. On June 4, a day of programming from the Truth and Reconcilliation roundtable is happening at the Rama Community Hall.

KIDS' FISHING DERBY AT MIDLAND HARBOUR

Saturday, June 3 at 9 a.m. to noon — The annual Kids' Fishing Derby is free for area children ages 16 and under. Each participant receives free bait, a hot dog, juice box, and a prize. There are kids bikes to be won and Midland Chrysler is offering a Mini-Jeep raffle at its booth. Sonic the Hedgehog and Chase from Paw Patrol will also be there. Registration opens at 9 a.m. at the Town of Midland booth. Bring your fishing rod and life-jacket.

Cost: Free.

THE DOUGLAS JOHN SING-A-LONG: MIDLAND ROTARY FAMILY SCENE
