Best items to sell for Rupees in Tears of the Kingdom (TOTK)
Whether it's for that awesome piece of armor, a bunch of arrows, or whatever else you may need, Rupees are going to be necessary for conquering Hyrule in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Unfortunately, they aren't the easiest thing to come by, unless you know what makes you the most money.
If you plan on building your own house in Tarrey Town or doing pretty much anything else in Hyrule, you’re going to need Rupees sooner or later. One of the best ways to make money in this game is to sell items for Rupees. Here are the best items you can sell for Rupees in Tears of the Kingdom and how to get each of them.
Random materials are a decent way to make some extra cash in the game, especially when you’re just starting out. Items like apples, flint, herbs, and so on will earn you a few Rupees for each of them. I mostly recommend these for the players who are only a few hours into the game.
These materials don't give you much to start with, but they can help you at least stock up on arrows or get your first piece of armor. Just be sure to grab every plant, apple, etc you see in the field. If you have too many of a single item, it might be worth selling the excess amount you don't need.
Better yet, if you have tons of apples and other food items, it's worth heading to a cooking pot and turning them into a delectable treat. These cooked food items generally sell for more than the original material would on its own.
This is a much quicker way to earn some Rupees and get more out of the items in your inventory.
As you defeat various Bokoblins, Moblins, Gleeoks, Lynels, and the like, you’ll earn various monster parts. While you could use these to attach to your weapons for added attack bonuses, you can also sell them at traders for Rupees.
The rarer the monster part, the more valuable it is. For instance, a Bokoblin Horn might only sell for a few Rupees, but the drops from one of the several dragons in the game is far more valuable and will sell in the hundreds.
One item you’ll likely end up with hundreds of over time are Brightbloom seeds. You generally don't need too many of these in your time in the Depths, so I like to sell the hundreds I’m not going to use for Rupees. These seeds are everywhere in caves throughout the game.
Speaking of caves, some of the best items to sell for money are the gems in the game. You’ll find ruby, sapphire, amber, and other gems as you play. Carry around a weapon with a rock attached to it and you can destroy ore deposits to farm these valuable gems.
Above all else, diamonds are the most impressive item to sell in Tears of the Kingdom. They are the best gems and also the rarest. But if you can find them—or even duplicate them, if you have an older patch version—you can sell diamonds for 500 Rupees each.
Sell a handful of these and you’ll instantly be able to make the home of your dreams or do pretty much anything else.
